Bowling Gutter Width

Us bowling has created a bowling bumper and bowling gutter system that creates more ball action than any other bumper in the industry bringing more excitement to your bowling center and customers.

Bowling lane minimum widths. The lane plus the gutters shall not be less than 60 inches nor more than 60 1 4 inches wide. Lane arrows also referred to as guide arrows are meant to guide you when releasing the ball. For single lane configurations you ll need a minimum width of 6 9.

Lane width the lane shall be between 41 and 42 inches in width. For four lane projects the minimum width required is 22 8. The diagrams shown in the pdf depict measurements required for a pair of lanes requires 11 6. The lane is made of tongue and grooved bed stock typically laid on edge or made of a synthetic material giving the appearance of boards sitting on their edges.

Each gutter is a full 9 1 4 in width fitting a bowling ball in them with a little extra wiggle room. The center of the head pin spot is 60 feet plus or minus 1 2 to the foul line. This is because the width of each individual lane sits at 3 feet and 6 inches while the length of the lane happens to be a whopping 60 feet long. The width is measured from gutter tip to gutter tip while the length starts at the foul line and ends at the head pin.

The gutter width is 9 1 4 in width. This set of arrows is located at a distance of 15 ft i e. Its width according to the guidelines set by the international bowling federation is 41 5 in i e. Dimensions of the bowling approach area every bowling approach area has the same characteristics it must adhere to for regulation purposes but there is some room for each center to do it slightly differently.

The combined width of the lane plus gutters should not be less than 60 in or more than 60 1 4 in. This system is a mechanic and installers dream you set it and forget it it is virtually maintenance free. The gutter is 1 7 8 beneath the lane surface.
