Gently break into smaller pieces. If the box is big and there is a large gap then put more cloth on top of the wrapped glass to keep it secure. It would probably be easier to make a new glass piece. There are too many complicated technical challenges for this type of repair.

If glass breaks wrap it in a plastic bag before throwing away so sanitation workers won t get injured handling it. Do your best to prevent glass from breaking. Lift and put it into your box. Close the box and seal with strong tape.
